Educational engineering

Education in the anticipation of different territories’ environmental and social transitions is a new approach that merits further exploration and development.

Territories are characterized by multiple specificities, challenges, and questions. Therefore, the interdisciplinary skills necessary to respond to them requires in-depth reflection on the appropriate disciplines to mobilise and the knowledge transmission pathways.

The diversity of the actors concerned—their cultures, functions and the questions addressed—also raises the question of the appropriate discourse to adopt and the way to deliver the content with an educational purpose.

Against this backdrop, the “Educational Engineering” Action Group is interested in developing these educational approaches to support civil society stakeholders in navigating the challenges faced in territories to anticipate climate change.

The Action Group’s dynamic revolves around interdisciplinary exchanges including civil society stakeholders (citizens, non-governmental organizations, technicians, elected officials) including professionals of scientific mediation and training (school boards; universities; centres of scientific, technical and industrial culture) and experimentation with new educational approaches.

Ultimately, the objective is to be able to offer original educational methods that are suitable for various societal groups, including students, elected officials, citizens, technicians, etc.
