Science-Society Interface

Climate change has become everyone’s business. At the level of regional territories, many actors (decision-makers, economic actors, civil society) are exploring and experimenting different approaches to mitigating and adapting to climate change.

One of the central missions of Futurs-ACT is to produce multidisciplinary scientific knowledge that will make it possible
to :

  • inform public decision-making to respond to complex societal issues, and
  • promote and share scientific knowledge to boost transfers to society and the climate transitions.

Scientific references, grounded expertise, and experience sharing are essential conditions to prepare pathways to adapt to future climate change.

Futurs-ACT proposes to co-create approaches at the science-society-political nexus to anticipate climate change in the territories of Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

By bridging the gap between the region’s scientific community and civil society stakeholders seeking knowledge or expertise, we aim to support the emergence and implementation of climate change adaptation projects.

These transfer-promotion projects can concern all areas of the ecological and climate transitions (e.g. technical, economic, cultural) requiring collaboration between scientists and members of civil society.
